Founder, Designer of Etelka
Since winter 2012, John Guidi has been living in Los Angeles developing his accessories line. Etelka, a family name, uses interesting fabric pairings with leather and beautiful, contemporary shapes for a result that is modern and unique. The "E" is a recurring design element that is used throughout several of his bags- whether it's a clutch or a cross body style. He draws inspiration from his artistic surrounds: sister Jennifer Guidi is a fine artist and his inspiration for creating the line. All bags are produced in the US with top quality materials.
Prior to launching Etelka, Guidi lived in New York City and worked on the creative and merchandising teams for Barneys New York, Ralph Lauren, and Steven Alan. It is in this role, that he learned what was successful and where there was a gap in the accessories market for beautifully designed and constructed handbags at a great cost. Over the course of his career he has worked with fashion stylists and magazine editors, for publications such as Vouge, W and Elle.
Guidi graduated from Parsons School, where he studied fashion design and construction.
